2026 Duncanson Artist-in-Residence Events

Meet and learn from the 2026 Duncanson Artist-in-Residence, Ayana Ross! Ross’ residency will include an exhibition of her work as well as engagement with the community, leading public programs, teaching workshops, and visiting schools across Greater Cincinnati.  

Workshops

Discover the processes and tools used to create different art forms as you work alongside local artists to make a piece of art of your own. 

  • May 10 | Mother's Day Workshop (Walk-In)
    • 12–2 p.m.
    • Celebrate Mother's Day and AAPI Heritage Month with a drop-in workshop hosted by local artist Yu Ling Huang. Inspired by the Chinese enamels in the Taft collection, create handmade cards that include motifs and designs!
  • July 18 | Paper Marbling and Bookbinding with Emma Johnson (Registration)

This is a FREE event! No registration required. Includes admission to exhibitions and the museum’s collection galleries. 

Adult Field Trip | Rembrandt's World

May 16 | 1–3 p.m.

Throw it back to your school days with a field trip for adults! Led by Taft educators, explore the exhibition and collection galleries with your friends and learn more about the artworks through close-looking and fun activities with a small group. Then, get hands-on with some artmaking to embrace your crafty side. 

Registration required. Includes admission to exhibitions and the museum’s collection galleries. 

Chamber Music Series

2:30-3:30 p.m.

Join Summermusik (Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra) for an artful afternoon of music.

This is a free event! Registration is not required; seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Queen City Table | Summer Harvest

July 16 | 6–8 pm.

Enjoy a four-course dining experience with local food expert and historian, Professor Alan Wight, PhD.  You will be led through the region's fascinating history and contributions related to our region's fruit and fungi. Learn more about the Tribal Nations, farmers, orchardists, permaculturalists, and entrepreneurs behind the domestication and popularization of favorites such as lions mane, golden enoki, chantarelle, and morel mushrooms, black raspberries, mulberries, pawpaws, and more.  

This multi-sensory educational and cultural experience is inspired by Dr. Wight's recent publication, Cincinnati's Foodshed: An Art Atlas, an illustrated book which uses art, maps, infographics and timelines to bring our past alive, showcase our present, and dream of a bright future.

Happy hour begins at 5 p.m., programming begins at 6 p.m.

Let's Talk About Art

Select Saturdays | 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.

Connect with fellow art lovers over meaningful conversation and great art! Participants will discuss a variety of topics and engage in collective experiences around works of art in the museum’s galleries. Discussions and experiences are facilitated by museum educators.
