Create & Play

Third Wednesday of the Month

10:15–11 a.m.

Explore the galleries with your young one while learning about art through guided activities and interactive games. Then get creative in the studio and make your own masterpiece to take home. This monthly program is designed for children ages 2–6 and their caregivers.

Explore the museum with our free Family Fundays throughout the year! These special days offer a new experience each time you visit. Music, art-making, and gallery engagements throughout the day are sure to inspire your young creators.

Celebrate the holiday season and explore our special exhibitions Posing Beauty in African American Culture and Resilience: New Ceramic Works by Terri Kern with festive art activities, food and drinks specials in the Café, family tours, and musical guests. 

This is a free event! Registration is not required. Museum admission is free.

Museum Moment

Every Sunday and Monday

12–12:20 p.m.

Stop by the museum for an art break! Join us for a 20-minute, close-looking experience with a work of art in our collection every Sunday and Monday in the collection galleries. 

Included with FREE Sunday and Monday general admission! No registration required.

Sensory Explorations

Select Sundays in July | July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28

Starting in August, Sensory Explorations will be Every Second Sunday

1–3 p.m.

Use senses like touch and hearing to experience the museum's collection and exhibition gallery spaces with our specially trained educators. Tools like 3-D printed reproductions, fabric samples, and soundscapes offer a new multi-sensory adventure at the Taft.  

This is a FREE event! No registration required. This program is developed specially for visitors with low or no vision, but all guests are invited to participate.
