Bring the whole family to the Taft Museum of Art on select third Sundays to explore, create, and play. These free afternoon programs offer great art, kid-sized art info, hands-on fun, and family-friendly performances. Most activities are ongoing, so drop in when you have time and stay as long as you like.
Road to Freedom
Sunday, January 18, 1-4 p.m.
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, celebrate the journey to freedom
and equality. Check out important events in America’s history at the Art Cart, make a craft to take home, explore Robert S. Duncanson’s artistic journey with a self-guided tour of the Museum, and enjoy a special performance. Meet Jinny Berten, author of Littsie and the Underground Railroad, and hear excerpts from the book.
Chinese Year of the Sheep
Sunday, February 15, 1-4 p.m.
Celebrate the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Sheep! Learn about wool spinning, carding, and knitting; make a sheep-ish craft to take home; explore Chinese symbols at the Art Cart; and look at celebrations and
children in Chinese art. Maybe a real sheep will stop by for a visit, too! Dancers from the Greater Cincinnati Chinese School will perform at 1 p.m.
