Every Sunday and Monday

Stop by the museum for an art break! Join us for a 20-minute, close-looking experience with a work of art in our collection every Sunday and Monday in the collection galleries.

FREE! Family Funday | Hide-and-Seek Animals

Cats, cows, and quails, OH MY! Join the author, Taft Assistant Curator Angela Fuller as she reads her new children’s book, Hide-and-Seek Animals at the Taft Museum of Art. Plus, introduce your family to art from around the world with colorful artworks from the museum’s collection, a petting zoo, and more!

1 p.m.–2 p.m. | Music Room | Author reading of Hide-and-Seek Animals at the Taft Museum of Art followed by a museum tour to seek animals.

2 p.m.–2:30 p.m. | Farmer Family Lobby | Book signing for books purchased in giftshop.

2:30–3:30 p.m. | Luther Hall | Band in a Bus presents Strums and Drums Workshop.

Workshop | Movement & Music with Bi-Okoto

10:30–11:30 a.m.

With live drumming, this class will teach you the fundamentals of traditional West African dance with an emphasis on an understanding of the accompanying drum rhythms. Classes start with a thorough warm-up, followed by a sequence of movements across the floor. The session runs for 45 minutes, with time reserved for Q&A.  

All skill levels are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to wear tights, loose tops, tank tops; wrappers and lapas are optional. Recommended for ages 13+  Free for Taft members, $5 for non-members. Museum admission sold separately.

Explore the museum with our free Family Fundays throughout the year! Enjoy music, art-making, and gallery experiences that will be sure to inspire your young creators.

Celebrate the exhibition Moment in Time with art activities, food and drinks specials in the Lindner Family Café, family tours, and musical guests. 

This is a free event! Registration is not required. Museum admission is free.

Create & Play

Third Wednesday of the Month

10:15–11 a.m.

Bring your young one to the Taft! Explore the galleries together while learning about art through guided activities and interactive games. Then get creative in the studio and make your own masterpiece to take home. This monthly program is designed for children ages 2–6 and their caregivers.

In observance of Juneteenth, Wednesday, June 19, the museum will be closed. No programs will be held.

The Mad Hatter's Tea Party

Family-Friendly Performances

Sundays, June 23, July 14, July 21
11 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1:30–3 p.m. 

In this topsy turvy explosion of movement, music, and whimsical mayhem, you will tea party like you’ve never tea partied before with this immersive, 90-minute interactive theater experience. As a guest in Wonderland, we’re placing you right alongside Alice. You will help Alice wind her way through the adventures of Wonderland to get back home. Along the way, you will adorn yourself in tea party hats, play croquet with the Queen, and dine on the most delectable array of treats with the March Hare and Mad Hatter! 

Ticket price includes a delicious assortment of sweet and savory bites alongside a selection of Churchill’s Fine Teas. 

$45 Taft members; $55 non-members; $35 children (12 and under). Reservations required. Price includes tax and gratuity. Alcoholic beverages are available for additional purchase (ages 21+). Please note: the café may adjust service offerings on these days.
