A visit to the Taft Museum of Art is a unique experience. Because we are home to a world-class art collection in the intimate setting of a historic house, here are a few things to know that will help make your visit more enjoyable.
FREE parking is available in the Taft’s onsite garage. If the garage is full, there are parking meters available across the street from the Museum, as well as garages close by. (See map.)
Please Don’t Touch the Art
Please help us to preserve the house and collection for future generations by not touching paintings, sculpture, furniture or draperies.
ADA Accessibility, Wheelchairs, and Strollers
The Taft Museum of Art is fully accessible to visitors with mobility impairment. Accessible elevator, restrooms, parking, wheelchairs, and ramps are available. A wheelchair is available for public use on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Sensory tours for visitors with developmental, visual, or hearing impairment can be scheduled with two weeks’ advance notice. For information about reservations, contact the Scheduling Manager at (513) 684-4517 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Because of space constrictions, horizontal tandem strollers, and vertical tandem strollers are not permitted. Parents with infants may use single strollers, lightweight umbrella strollers, or soft-front carriers.
Coat Room and Lockers
The coat room and lockers are located on the first floor. Coats cannot be carried through the galleries. Please plan on wearing your coat while touring the galleries or leave in coat check.
Backpacks, packages, diaper bags, and laptop bags exceeding 13”h x 17”w x 8”d must be placed in a locker. Travel luggage and garment bags are not permitted in the coatroom. Please leave oversized items at home so you may comfortably enjoy your visit.
Non-commercial photographs of the museum and the artworks in the permanent collection are permitted. Photography is not permitted in galleries that house loaned artworks. If you are uncertain, please consult with museum security.
Video cameras, tripods, and laptops are not permitted in the galleries and special exhibition areas. The use of selfie sticks is prohibited to preserve the safety of the artwork.
Please refrain from the use of cell phones while touring the permanent collection and special exhibition areas.
Sketching with Pencils
Sketching is allowed in the galleries. Drawing boards, clipboards and sketch pads should not exceed 15×16 inches. Only graphite pencils are allowed. Pens, markers, crayons, charcoals, colored pencils, chalks or pastels are not allowed.
Lost and Found
If you have left something behind at the Museum, please call the Security Office at (513) 241-2310.
Food and Drink
Food and drink are not permitted in the galleries or special exhibition areas.
The Taft Museum of Art is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the museum or in the garden.
The museum’s security is here to provide care and protection to the visitors, and collection, historic house. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance or direction. All bags are subject to security inspection.
